Diddy And The $750,000 Audition.

If you recall, a few weeks ago current James Bond, Daniel Craig mentioned that he would like to see the first Black James Bond, and that maybe Obama had opened the door for that to happen.
At SGHI we discussed a few names that had been tossed into the ring for your consideration, with Idris Elba being the only name taken seriously at that time.
Well, guess who wants to be taken seriously too? $750,000 worth of seriously?!
None other than Puff Daddy! Take that, take that!

Sean "Diddy" Combs is so sure he will be picked as the first black James Bond, he has splashed out $750,000 on making his 007 audition tape.

The hip-hop mogul has previously spoken of his desire to play an African-American incarnation of the suave superspy, and has set plans in motion to ensure he lands the coveted role.

Combs traveled to the luxurious South of France to film the promo near the Casino Royale, the inspiration behind current Bond Daniel Craig's debut film in the long-running franchise.

The rapper took to the skies in a helicopter, wearing a tuxedo and surrounded by his very own Bond girls.

And the star is adamant that after Craig has surrendered his license to kill, he will be in line for the part, because of U.S. president-elect Barack Obama's historic victory at the American election earlier this month.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "This is my audition tape for the next James Bond. There is a black president, and it's time for there to be a black Bond."

But he's facing some stiff competition -- R&B hitmaker Akon and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx are also reportedly eager to play the legendary secret agent.

You know what people? I'm not even mad at him. To be quite honest his persona has me sold. The way he lives his life, it would appear this is the role he was born to play...Unfortunately his lack of credibility as a real actor will probably make this $750,000 wasted.
Make no mistake about it, Diddy has done some serious acting. It is easy to forget his critically acclaimed (small) part in Monsters Ball and all the work he's done on Broadway, as well as the movie version of A Raisin In The Sun, I saw it, he was great! Diddy is no slouch in the acting game, but carrying a movie franchise with that much history? With that much money involved? His FIRST lead role? Nah. Plus I have zero faith that he could get the accent down.
Still though, on the off-chance he did get the part, he could definitely have my $11.00 for a ticket.

No matter what your stance is on Prop 8, don't be hypocritical about it. It is wrong to pick and choose what parts of your faith to follow, and then pass judgement on others for the lives they choose to lead. This skit is just a hilarious and musical version of the serious shit I just said. Think about it.

Do Or Don't: Brightly Colored Leather Jackets

I woke up this morning and thought I might like to own a leather jacket in a bright juicy color. Nothing too crazy, I'm thinking in the blue or green family. The first pic is really doing something for me today. Well, not all the other pink and green foolishness she's wearing, just the jacket. Do Or Don't?

Kim Kardashian Makeup Tutorial

A few months back I was having a boring day at home, so I decided to experiment with Kim Kardashian's Makeup Tutorial. I followed the video step-by-step, and to my surprise I came up with a look I really liked. Plus, when I wore it out I got tons of compliments on it!
Try it for yourself. It doesn't have to be an exact recreation of her whole look, it's about experimentation with new techniques and trying new things with makeup so you can add some flair to your boring makeup routine.
Believe it or not, these videos gave me some tips that are now a permanent part of my makeup repertoire, and changed the whole way I do my face.

PART I: Foundation, Concealer, Blush.

This link will take you to the page with the remainder of her makeup tutorials, smoky eyes, lips, etc:

If this doesn't float your boat, there are a wealth of makeup tutorials on youtube. Take advantage of them and find a makeup artist whose work you like. This may also help you to eliminate makeup box clutter, because once you find your go-to look, you will know exactly what colors you do or don't need. I probably have about 50 eye shadows that I NEVER use.

They're Getting Tough On Sports Stars, Huh?

Granted, I know NOTHING about hockey, and I can't even remember the last time I saw Elisha Cuthbert in a movie...Who? Yeah, I know. But this video gave me a chuckle.

OK, so some hockey player named Sean Avery, apparently used to date Elisha Cuthbert. Check it.

So for reasons I don't know or care about, it didn't work out and Cuthbert went on to date some other hockey player. Lets call him hockey dude 2.
Sean Avery's team was about to play hockey dude 2's team, and at the pre-game press conference Avery referred to Elisha as his "sloppy seconds". This comment has gotten him suspended indefinitely. Harsh!

But I love the video of him actually saying it, cause he looks so seriously confused. I smell an Oscar!
Awww, bitter much, Sean?

Keep In Mind That I'm An Artist. And I'm Sensitive About My Shit!

Comedy Central funny-man Stephen Colbert launched the very funny "Operation Humble Kanye West" on yesterdays episode of The Colbert Report. With such comedy gems as "Kanye is not the voice of this generation...with all the auto-tuning on your record you're barely the voice of your own albums!" (Oh Snap!)It's definitely a clip to watch. It's all in fun.

Unfortunately, 'Ye must have injured his funny bone because he was not amused.
Today's response from Kanye West VIA Twitter:

Oh Kanye...sigh.
I really hope this is the start of a funny and light-hearted exchange of words between two talented people, and not Mr. West really taking a joke to heart...break.

By the way, what in the fuck is Twitter anyway?

...And The Sales Just Keep On Coming!

This really is the only time of year to shop sales. They are everywhere you turn, and I'm really starting to love Internet shopping! No elbowing people, no mess! Can it get more awesomer? No, it cannot.

Anyway, head over to Bloomingdales.com today and tomorrow for more sales and the bonus of a $50.00 gift card. It might not seem like much, but you can pick up something that you may have bought anyway, and that $50.00 gift card could be someones Holiday gift, free of charge!
That way, you don't have to grit and grind your teeth when you re handing out the gift of your hard-earned money.

I've always been a bit wary of most drugstore makeup products. You can't try them on right? and more expensive is better anyway, right?

No. I was sort of wrong on both counts. A good product is a good product, and I would put my seal of approval on this one. Plus, some pharmacies do accept returns on makeup! I didn't realize this!
I know it sucks that you can't try it on in the store, but how often do you try makeup in the store, get home, and not like it after all? Isn't it better to go home, and try it with your other products? Apply it the way you will apply it everyday, rather than someone putting it on for you and trying to sell you?
Ask the people at your local drugstore about returns on opened makeup, hopefully they have a good policy.

I picked this Neutrogena® 3 in 1 Concealer for Eyes up in Duane Reade a few weeks ago on a whim, and it's actually quite nice. It has kind of a floral smell which seems to bother some other reviewers, but I don't think it was bad. It has a VERY creamy consistency, similar to that of an expensive eye cream. I find the coverage to be a bit sheer though, I guess it's a natural coverage? Personally, I can skip all that "natural" mess when it comes to makeup. I'd rather look completely unnatural and dark circle free.

A good product though, and a good place to start if your embarking on a search for a drugstore concealer.

I Promise, It Does Not Make Me Feel Good To Post This!

Beyonce is on the cover of the new Giant Magazine, looking hot as ever!

She looked good at the Cadillac records Premiere last night too. I thought the hair on her head looked a little wiggy up front...but that wasn't the only hair that was wrong!

Daaaammmmnnn...Well, she's married. Probably doesn't give a damn.
OK! So we can put the rumours to rest, she is not an alien or cyborg even though she refuses to take her robot hand off. She's only human, and we grow hair.
I'm surprised she hasn't lasered it off though. I want to laser so the hair can NEVER grow back. Scorch the earth

Tina Fey Explains Her Mystery Buck Fifty

Tina Fey interview W/ Vanity Fair: She finally talks about her scar! Sorry, I wanted to know...

Tina Fey graces the cover of the January issue of Vanity Fair, and in an interview with Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond inside, her distinctive facial scar is finally explained as a random childhood slashing.

From the NY Post, which got an early look at the article:
...she and hubby Jeff Richmond note she's never talked publicly about a mystery slashing incident, which happened when she was 5.

"It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and some body just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen," Richmond says.

The "30 Rock" star has refused to discuss the scar. "It's impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it," she says.

The AP has more on Fey's scar from VF:
Says Richmond: "That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life."

Fey says talking about the attack would seem like exploiting it.

Says Fey: "It's really almost like I'm able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of `Oh, I guess we should use this side' or whatever. Everybody's got a better side."

She also talks about her parents:
"I grew up in a family of Republicans. And when I was 18 and registering to vote, my mom's only instruction was 'You just go in and pull the big Republican lever.' That's my welcome to adulthood. She's like, 'No, don't even read it. Just pull the Republican lever."' (Fey made a call to arrange for Richmond's excited Republican parents and sister to meet Palin at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania.)

Wanna Be Down?

Brandy - Long Distance

Just a week or 2 ago, I hit a lounge with my lovely friend TAZ and the DJ was playing some of our childhoods greatest hits.
I'm a nerd, so I couldn't help doing that Brandy dance when her song came on. You know, the one where it looks like you re making a bird shadow puppet? Yeah...
Anyway, This new track looks like it's shaping up to be her biggest hit in years!
You ready to be down with Ms. Norwood again?

And the remix cause "I been mackin' Daddy from tha corner of my eye" I just realized this is a pretty raunchy remix for a 16 year old...
