Eternal Flame.

Christian Louboutin's $2,445 Maralena Flame Sandal has been named The Sexiest Shoe of 2010.

Footwear News in partnership with Saks 5th Ave selected the finalists for the sexiest heels, but the vote for a winner was open to the public, both online and in Saks stores.
8,000 votes later we have a winner! What do you think? Super sexy? Or not so much? I personally prefer the bootie version to the sandal. I could totally stomp people into submission with these babies!

Check out some of the other finalists. Would you have chosen a different winner? Or different finalists altogether?

On Your Mark. Get Set. Go International!

Exciting news! Target will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its Go International designer collective by re-releasing 34 of the most coveted dresses from their previous designer collections.

Go International spotlights up and coming designers, so expect pieces from the likes of Thakoon, Rodarte, Tracy Feith, Alice Temperley, Proenza Schouler, and Zac Posen.

Unfortunately we have to wait a bit, the dresses will be on sale from March 13th-April 10th 2011. Furthermore, they wont even be releasing information about the exact pieces they'll be selling until February. But mark those calenders, and in the meantime look below for a few popular past creations that may (literally) be in store (and online).

Give To Those In Need.

One time not to be fashionable is when it comes to charitable causes. Many donated to charity in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti, but months later many Haitians are still homeless and hungry. Instead of spending $5.00 on something frivolous today, give to someone who really needs it.

Elizabeth Schaeffer Brown's initiative, Choose Haiti, is relatively new, but is quickly gaining tons of support. Earthquake survivors are being paid to pick up the newspapers and bottles that litter their streets and make bracelets out of them. The bracelets in turn are being sold at retail outlets such as Forever 21, Footlocker, and QVC.

In the last 4 weeks 10,000 bracelets have been sold, with plans to sell at least 1 million. This will provide work for 3000 Haitians still living in tents, while simultaneously encouraging them to clean up their streets.

Do something good for someone else today, you'll feel great too!

Sparkle *** during the day

I am so happy that sequins have become an acceptable form of dress for daytime. I can now give a few pieces in my closet maximum exposure.

(Rodarte dress)
This week I wore a sequined dress to work and was very happy with the way I paired it. Sequins can be tricky! If you are unsure of how to make this look work for you I have prepared a few tips on ways you can accessorize by toning down and offsetting the glitzy glam of sequined clothing.

(Rodarte dress, boots by Steven, Mulberry bag, aviators, random belt)

I am wearing thigh high boots in this photo. This item is yet another piece that has become a more acceptable staple during the daytime, especially in NY with our brutally cold winters. Thankfully they have outlived and risen above the shame of the character that Julia Roberts portrayed in "Pretty Woman".

My office is a little more laid back with their dress code which is why I took the liberty of pairing them with this outfit. In a more conservative environment I would have paired my outfit with booties or pumps. I may have also worn a black blazer and tights. With the denim jacket I wanted to break up the all black monotony. See pics below for the alternate option I just described.

Outfit Re-Creation

Here is Kourtney Kardashian shopping at Jeffrey in NYC. Full skirts of all lengths are hot for Fall. Choose one that ends above the knee to make a perfect pairing with another huge fall trend, stockings! No need to show leg and cleavage simultaneously, at least not during the day, so choose a top that covers the twins.

I wore a similar outfit recently, because my skirt was plaid I chose to steer clear of the button downs or ties, I didn't want to take it to far into catholic school territory. Instead I chose a cap sleeve knit, with pearl detail near the collar.
My skirt is by Kinsey, the top is from INC. both available at Macy's. I picked my stockings up at H&M, and the booties (which I know you don't have a clear view of, sorry) are Giuseppe Zannotti.

*Sidebar: I really used to love Jeffrey, but there is an extremely rude sales manager(? short, fat, bald) working there. Despite the fact that he would greet me with the perfunctory air kiss whenever I walked in, I one day overheard him whisper to the salesperson helping me that he'd "chosen the wrong customer."
Well excuse me Fatty two by four! I may not buy 10 pairs at a time, but I am a regular customer, and my money is as green as anyone else's. Maybe he hadn't noticed that there are no shortages of shoe stores in NYC. I can, and did take my money elsewhere! End rant*

Smarten Up!

Check out the geek chic look on Zoe Kravitz. I am loving her Alexander Wang Spiral Notebook Clutch! It is understated enough to do everything you want your simple black clutch to do, while keeping it fun and funky with it's interesting spiral detail. It's a definite conversation starter.

Only downside is you may get hit on by high school boys, if you call that a downside you cougar!

FSOTW Winner....

Hi Guys,

You seemed to love Blake's Lanvin sandals and Kimmie's Louboutin death pumps; however, the winner was none other than Cheryl Cole.

She did a fabulous job in making her Atwood pumps look modern and beautiful when they could have easily looked cheap.

Kanye West Runaway

In case you missed its television debut, here is Kanye West starring in his short film titled Runaway.
In the film a phoenix played by Victoria's Secret Angel Selita Ebanks, falls to earth and falls in love with a mortal played by Kanye West.

Of course relationship drama ensues as he tries to show her a world that her enlightened birdy mind can never grasp.

Also, you should totally never try to feed a bird to another bird. Bird on bird cannibalism is clearly not the way. I hope you're happy now. Dinner is ruined!

Outfit Re-creation

I absolutely love the new look of drapes that is currently coming down the runways. From Lanvin, Roland Mouret to Givenchy. I really think that if done well they can be quite breathtaking. From skirts to dresses and the like. Draping is not for every body type, so it may not necessarily look great on everyone, but in my humble opinion (IMHO) if you have a little height and a great pair of legs it might just work for you.

Last month I came across a photo in People Magazine of the fabulous Dree Hemingway that prompted me to do an look inspired by her. Not one to shy away from a challenge I was on the hunt for the perfect draped skirt.

After searching I finally found the perfect look that I thought was a great marriage between my personal style and the look that Dree wore.

Here is Dree out at an event:

This is me heading out to work this week:

(Dress from Asos, Shoes from Steve Madden, Belt Oscar de la Renta, Mulberry Bag, and Aviators)

P.S. - I recently found out that Dree made this skirt herself. What a great job! If you like the skirt it may be worth your while to try recreating it on your own. A great Do it yourself (DIY) project. Some Grey Marley Jersey fabric, needle and thread; possibly a few pins might just do the trick.

FSOTW Contenders...

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable week. I for one am more than ecstatic that this week has come to a close. It has been so hectic for me that I almost didn't make it in to work this morning simply because I thought Thursday was Friday. My mind would not allow me to believe I had to endure another work day. Alas, reality kicked in and I realized that I had to trust that NY1 was not playing a trick on me by repetitively saying "It's Friday".

Nonetheless my friends, I have got a full line up of fab shoes for you all today. I would love for you to give me your feedback on who the FSOTW award should go to. I was very disappointed with the amount of black pumps being worn on the red carpet. While I know that this item is a staple for us girls, switching things up on the red carpet is an absolute must to win our award.

Okay let's begin:
(Cheryl Cole in Brian Atwood)

(Blake Lively in Lanvin)

(Kim Kardashian in Christian Louboutin)

(Cassie shoe is Unknown)

(AnnaLyne McCord in Christian Louboutin)

(Jennifer Lopez shoe is unknown)

All of these shoes are absolutely exquisite. (Remember click on the pics to enlarge)

Is this going to be a difficult choice for you guys to make or have you already spotted your favorite of the week? Leave a comment letting me know who you vote for and also drop me a line if you think I should have mentioned someone else as a contender.

Thanks Guys!
