The New (Weak) 90210
Are you watching the new 90210? Maybe you're thinking "Hell no! Why would I watch that?" But I can still enjoy a good teen drama. Did we outgrow liking a good boyfriend-stealing-followed-by-slapfest? I didn't.
Well, I've flipped past once or twice and this ish looked boring as hell. It doesn't appear to have the excitement or originality of...the original, 90210 was the first of its kind, you have to give it props. Nor does it have the "sheer fuckery factor". You know, when you're watching a show and you're like OMG, I cannot believe the fuckery they just put on my eyeballs. I'd like that too. I like to fill my ignorance quota at home, so I don't have to go out and get ignorant on my cab driver, because I will. If you don't know, now you know.
I'm only disappointed because I had high hopes for this show due to the casting of two characters from two of my current favorite shows, Nip/Tuck and Degrassi. If you don't watch those shows you may not know, but there should have been several incidents of weave pulling and sexual misadventures. Like, between these two broads, someone should have gotten ruphied, done an S&M porno on webcam, emailed it around school to gain funds for new cheerleading uniforms, ended up getting pregnant as a result, sold the baby, and tried to poison someone to death. So I just want you to feel me when I say not only is this 90210 weak, but in light of what other shows do with these actors it's complete trash.
These clips are from Nip/Tuck which is obviously an "adult" show, and an outlandish one at that. AnnaLynne McCord (new Kelly Taylor?) plays Eden Lord, current bad girl in a string of many. She is not at all safe for work.
Degrassi is a teen drama out of Canada. It started in the 80's, and was revived in 2001 as Degrassi: The Next Generation. Shenae Grimes (new Brenda Walsh) plays Darcy.
The scenes here are definitely not as scandalous as the Nip/Tuck ones, plus all the youtube vids I came across were montages with stupid songs. But you get the point.
