Who Worked it Best?

I am someone who definitely respects and appreciates individuality, however this dress right here is a NO GO for me. Victoria Beckham is hailed by few as a fashion Guru, nevertheless, I find her style mediocre at best. Sometimes she has hit's, more times than not she slips. I personally think that these two choices are the latter.

From the front this white dress looks perfectly fine, then she turns around and were hit with a birds nest.

Maybe she was intending on flying to heaven... IDK
This black all in one jumpsuit could be a nice look but some how it just does not look well executed on her body. She does not have the necessary proportions to make this look work IMO. Here is a pic of Sanaa Lathan wearing a similar jumpsuit and executing it much better.

Sanaa has a better body for this jumpsuit, however, I wish she had accentuated the bodice of this piece with a belt or something that would provide a smoother more curvy shape. In the pic below Jennifer Hudson is wearing the same piece and I believe that she executes it the best of all three. Click on all pics to enlarge

What say you?

Hi Alicia,

Can you tell me where J-hud got that jumpsuit she was wearing? I was looking for one and couldn't find it anywhere. I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Samantha,

My dear friend and fellow contributor Kamilah has pointed me in the direction of Stylefinder.com. There are several all in one jumpsuits displayed. If you paste the link below in your web browser, you will see the Stella McCartney "Wool Degrade Jumpsuit" This is one of my favorites. There are other jumpsuits displayed as well.(http://www.stylefinder.com/items/?id=105196)
I hope that we've been able to help you. I will continue to keep my eyes open for other options. Let me know how the hunt goes...

The exact jumpsuit J Hud is wearing is by Michael Kors. It's on sale at E Luxury but it's still $800.00 bucks. Check it out here.

Or try this one from Topshop. Although Alicia did mention that she thought the pants looked a bit too tight. You dont want it to look like a catsuit, but it still may work.

Wow you guys work quickly. I hadn't expected to even get an answer. Thanks alot. I think I am going to get the Micheal Kors jumpsuit, it's the exact thing that Jennifer is wearing. Thank you sooo much.
I'm full figured like Jennifer so it's sometimes hard to find things. I wanted something nice like this to wear to a black tie affair. I think it will make me stand out. Do you think that this would be appropriate?

Thanks guys, This site ROCKS.

Hey Samantha!
Thanks so much for hanging with us.
Two things:
1. I found one more similar to the Kors version from Black Halo. It's still not cheap, but $390 is better than $800, at least it's an option. Use the rest of the $ for shoes :)
Check it out here at saks.com

2. I'm going to be totally honest and say that no, I don't think this is appropriate for black tie. Of course I'm not some huge expert, but that's what I would tell a friend. Although dressing has become more casual, Black tie is still pretty formal. Maybe you will jazz it up in a way I hadn't considered with your shoes and bag, but I'd say wear this to a cocktail party maybe, but no more formal an event than that.

Sorry for the lengthy msg. Hope it wasn't discouraging. Check back in with us, I'm sure the girls and I can dig up some more suggestions for our individual opinions on black tie attire.

Hello Samantha Darling,

Sorry for being so late with my 2 cents; but here it is nonetheless. :)
I have to disagree with my girl Kamilah on this one. I think that you can definitely rock wit the jumpsuit for your black tie affair. Its 2008 babe, the rules of fashion are ever changing and I think that a jump suit like the one Kamilah found from Black Halo would be both modern and classic for your shindig! It will give you a long lean silhouette also - I think with the right accessories you will surely be a show stopper. The first step of course would be to head over to Saks and try it on - as soon as you put it on you will know if this look is working for you or not. If you put it on and feel fabulous and confident - then buy it! Because feeling sexy is really the key to looking sexy. Please keep us posted and send us pictures!
:)
XOXO
